The Royal Institution  is the oldest and one of the most prestigious scientific establishments in the world. Founded in 1799 by the leading British scientists of the age it is today a modern organisation committed to "diffusing science for the common purposes of life."  Following a two and a half year closure and a £22 million refurbishment programme the RI was re-launched by Her Majesty The Queen in May 2008.  We are pleased to have conserved and restored 27 picture frames for the RI.  Click the project button below for details.
