One of a pair of parcel gilt George III
fauteuils which had been repainted in the early twentieth century.
The chairs were dry stripped and 75% of the original paint surface was
found. Paint and gilding were retouched to match the original.
One of the completed and re-upholstered chairs is shown below left.
